Vintage Mourning Brooch and Locket Jewelry

Up for sale are two pieces of mourning jewelry.  These items are from an estate sale.  The first is a brooch with a picture of a gentleman with a hidden compartment behind the picture. It measures 1 1/2" across and 1 1/4" tall.  The piece which contains the picture slides out so a keepsake can be stored inside.
The locket measures 1 1/4" across.  On the front are 8 clear stones and a place that is missing the ninth stone.  There appears to be some strands of hair behind the clear plastic crystal.
I can find no makers marks or any other marks on either piece.  These are very unusual pieces of a bygone era.
