    Product Description
An exceptional, fine and impressive, large antique Edwardian English sterling silver Arts and Crafts cream jug made by Birmingham Guild of Handicraft; an addition to our range of collectable silverware
This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver cream jug has a circular rounded form to a circular base.
The surface of this large cream jug is plain and unembellished; the piece shows signs of the original hammering, as the piece was crafted from a flat sheet of silver.
The antique silver cream jug is fitted with a plain sterling silver C shaped handle, accented with an Arts and Crafts style motif to each socket.
The exceptional Edwardian silver cream jug, crafted by the Birmingham Guild of Handicraft*, is a larger example than expected for its type.
    * The Birmingham Guild of Handicraft operated by the motto ‘By Hammer and Hand'. This independent Arts and Crafts workshop was created in 1890, under the leadership of the established silversmith and architect, Arthur Stansfield Dixon. Other members of the Guild were the renowned craftsmen Albert Edward Jones and Thomas Birkett. Items crafted within the Guild include furniture, fine books and metalware.
