Lenox Towle Midcentury Modern Enamel Sterling & Ceramic Cream & Sugar Set Style 465 & 466Presented is a Mid-century modern Sugar bowl and creamer with an interesting design from Towle sterling silver and Lenox ceramic. The creamer is marked on the bottom with for Towle sterling silver with a style or product number of 465, the lid of the sugar bowl is peaked with green enamel detailing on the top of handle with a hallmark on the rim with a product or style number of 466.
This item is listed in my book on Modern American silver and the design is attributed to Earl Pardon was a famous designer working at Towle in concert with the ceramic maker Lenox. This is a museum quality item. These items are rare and are fine examples of American Mid Century design. I am showing an article from my book by "Jewel Stern" in the last three photos, these are from the book and not included in this auction. This auction is for the Cream & Sugar only. They are in great condition with only some flea-bite dings, no monogram and some fine scratches from gentle use and care.
