    LINCOLN ASSASSINATION EDITIONS
    (Harper’s Weekly April 29, 1865), and Frank Leslie’s Illustrated Newspapers April 29, 1865), &
    ANDREW JOHNSON PROFILE + HUNT
FOR & DEATH OF JOHN WILKES BOOTH
    (Harper’s Weekly May 13. 1865- 16 pages)
    SOLD AS A SET ONLY
These three very rare newspapers are complete artifacts of American history covering the Lincoln Assassination, Andrew Johnson’s installment as President, plus the pursuit and death of John Wilkes Booth.
Other offers of similar illustrations have been ransacked and had their prints sold separately, but these are complete and in good condition…considering they are 158 years old!
(Photos of the Illustrations are shown and all three have close ups of the papers’ spines.)
All three are in plastic sleeves with acid-free paper backings. One historical note illustrating the passions of the times appears on the front cover of the Andrew Johnson May 13, 1865 edition of Harper’s where someone at the time wrote above Johnson’s Head in now faded pencil,“
    Traitor
Whose picture is not worthy to be in the same the same paper as that of
    Lincoln
    , The
    Great
    Martyr

Among the front page stories are etchings of John Wilkes Booth, The Assassination scene, and Andrew Johnson.
Inside the papers, there are illustrations of Fort Sumpter by Thomas Nast, the Harper’s illustration of the Assassination. And the ruins of Richmond. Centerfold pages of Lincoln’s Death Watch, An allegory of the nation mourning the death of the President, and Lincoln’s funeral procession. In the 2nd
Harper’s are prints of Lincoln’s team of Pursuers, Booth cornered in the
burning barn, and that of Boston Corbett, alleged killer of Booth.
    PLEASE NOTE:
All these papers are 100% authentic. They are not reprints or replications of any kind—-guaranteed!
Again, I am selling these as a 3 paper set only.
A very rare chance to own three very rare pieces of American Civil War History!
