    This is a HARPER'S WEEKLY Volume III Number 134 Saturday, July 23, 1859.
    Appearing in this issue is an advertisement for a pro-slavery pamphlet which made its appearance only once.  Samuel A. Cartwright, the author of the appendix, was a racist physician whose disgusting views can be found on the internet if you care to learn more about it.
