Description
Presented is an antique, sterling silver, covered sugar bowl or dish for a tea set made by Tiffany & Company during the late 19th century. This piece was made around the 1880s and it is done in an Aesthetic Movement style. This is a large, good weight piece. The body has a band of decoration and the rim has a beaded band of design around it. One side has a finely engraved monogram of the letter D.The underside bears the Tiffany & Company sterling silver hallmark with the M signifying production between 1873 and 1891.
This piece is in great condition for its age. There are a few slight dings to the body that can be pushed out by a professional.
The bowl measures 8 1/2 inches from handle to handle and is 5 1/2 inches tall.
