Description
Presented is an antique, English sterling silver creamer or milk jug made in London in 1801. This Georgian piece is done in a classic pitcher form and the rim is hand engraved with bands of leaf and bead designs. The front of the piece is finely engraved with a monogram of the initials JEB in script.The side bears the crowned leopard's head symbol for the city of London, the lion passant for sterling silver purity, a duty mark of the king's head and a date letter F for the year 1801.
This piece is in good condition for its age. There is surface wear commensurate with age and use, as well as some pin-point size dings. There is also a small dent visible in the third photo on the lower half of the creamer. There are no major damages and no repairs.
The creamer measures 4 1/2 inches from handle to spout and is 3 3/4 inches tall.
